A través de la última newsletter The Raven hemos sabido que ya está disponible el primer pack de esencias que se compone de : Lilac Wood, The Last Unicorn, The Butterfly, Mommy Fortuna, The Midnight Carnival, The Ninth Cage, and Arachne of Lydia.
Según Terri Kempton, de Conlan Press, ésto es a lo que huelen:
LILAC WOOD — This sensual scent transports you to a wild forest. It smells like a thousand crushed flowers and something untamed. Far from a plain lilac scent, it has complex floral notes that mellow over time into soft sweet warm tones. It should be an instant hit with women who like floral scents but are looking for something fresh and new. (It was definitely a favorite of our testers and their families!)
THE LAST UNICORN — When I think of the Unicorn herself I envision a combination of strength, beauty, and fragility. This scent has all of that. It comes out of the bottle so rich (almost like fruit dark chocolate) that it might make your mouth water. But there's something wild in there too, giving it an untamed edge. When it hits your skin, the chocolate aroma fades, leaving a scent with a lot of heart and depth. You'll find yourself sniffing again and again as the perfume becomes mellower and deeper, with a wild grass flavor riding over the top. This is a truly addictive scent, and it ages so beautifully you'll enjoy the changes all day.
THE BUTTERFLY — BPAL hit this one out of the ballpark on the first swing: a fresh, lively, light scent that instantly evokes the butterfly spouting truth and nonsense in the midst of a summer meadow. A versatile perfume, this could be used by men or women, for room diffusion, even for an invigorating shower. I think it’s ideal for sporty gals and guys who are filled with energy and like a bouncy, joyful scent.
THE MIDNIGHT CARNIVAL — Imagine you are on the silk road, traveling in a caravan. What might you expect to smell on your journey of spices: cinnamon, cardamom, saffron? Except you're not on the silk road, you’re Mommy Fortuna hauling around animals masquerading as monsters, and you don't have the patience for common human aromas like those. Instead you have this blend of tangy, spicy scents tied together with a bit of sharpness and shadow. This one is perfect for women who love powerful scents with a slight edge to them, or for that special night out when you want to feel exotic and unpredictable.
THE NINTH CAGE — When BPAL suggested creating a "Ninth Cage" perfume (that’s the cage which holds the Unicorn during her involuntary stay with the Midnight Carnival) I wasn't sure how in the world they could formulate something that was all iron bars and desperation, with a heavy dose of enchantment thrown in. The scent they created is both dusty and dark, but surprisingly charming at the same time. A sure win for autumn and for the more contemplative wearer. It's so pleasant to smell, you might just forget to escape.
ARACHNE OF LYDIA — I've always been fond of the spider in the Midnight Carnival, and how she whole-heartedly believed in her world of illusion. A cool blend of rich, juicy heart notes with a deep layer of hidden bite underneath, this perfume is unbelievable...how can a scent be this wonderfully creepy and deliciously wearable at the same time? My favorite thing about it is the way the darker scent mellows and fades over the course of the day, leaving a sweeter and sweeter aroma behind (not unlike walking away from a spider, weeping).
MOMMY FORTUNA — A character with power, age, and a heart so dry she cries sand instead of blood. The perfume bearing her name captures these aspects with a strong, surprising scent, rich with deep underlying notes but with a wisp of dust and dryness on top. This is a scent for Halloween, for times when you need to kick ass, and for those crazy nights when you're taking on the town alone.
